UAE launches national platform to streamline health licensing
New digital system set to attract global healthcare talent with unified standards
DUBAI: The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched a revolutionary National Licensing Platform, a bold step toward simplifying and unifying the health licensing process for professionals across the country.
This innovative system, developed through a strategic partnership with various health authorities, aims to enhance the country's healthcare sector by ensuring efficient regulation and seamless integration of services.
How will it benefit health professionals?
The new digital platform offers a comprehensive solution for licensing all healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, health technicians, pharmacists, and allied medical staff.
By integrating all health authorities into a single system, MoHAP ensures that professionals can quickly access all necessary licensing services. The platform reduces time and effort for users, while streamlining the process to enhance their experience.
With this initiative, the country is poised to meet the growing demands of the healthcare sector and ensure a smooth, efficient licensing process.

What’s the purpose?
Developed with input from all health authorities across the UAE, the platform has been designed to reduce the administrative burden on both health authorities and professionals. This digital system will govern the entire licensing process, from registering health personnel and managing documents to issuing standardised professional practice licenses that are valid across the nation. The platform’s key goal is to ensure that health professionals meet the same high standards, irrespective of where they practice in the UAE.
Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, highlighted the platform’s transformative impact on the health system. He emphasised that this initiative aims to create a globally competitive healthcare environment that is both efficient and innovative. "By unifying standards, simplifying procedures, and enabling easier transfers between government and private sectors, this platform will improve the quality of healthcare services across the country," he said.
What makes it stand out
One of the platform’s standout features is its ability to standardise the evaluation of medical and specialised qualifications, ensuring mutual recognition of accreditations across all health authorities. This harmonisation of qualifications is crucial to reduce disparities in healthcare delivery. It is designed to align recruitment policies and attract qualified healthcare professionals from around the world, making the UAE a leading hub for healthcare innovation.
Dr. Al Amiri further explained that by creating unified recruitment and employment policies for doctors, the UAE aims to ensure a highly skilled workforce across both public and private healthcare institutions.
The platform will also enable smoother transitions for professionals moving between various health authorities, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to a well-regulated healthcare sector.
Alla Mansour, Acting Director of the Licensing and Accreditation Department at MoHAP, underscored the role of the platform in the country’s broader digital transformation strategy. The initiative aligns with the Ministry's Zero Government Bureaucracy programme, aiming to reduce red tape and foster an innovation-friendly environment.
This platform is not only about simplifying processes but also about improving the business environment for the health sector, contributing to a sustainable and well-governed healthcare system.
